About Me

Hi, I’m Anna Armstrong, a Master’s of Natural Resources student at the University of Idaho, studying Integrated Natural Resources. I work full-time as a journalist for a newspaper in Sonoma County, California, where I cover local politics and accountability-driven environmental and land use stories.

I graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and a minor in Journalism (Go Bears!) in 2024. During college, I worked as an educator at a children’s science museum, helping youth engage with science and the natural world through hands-on learning.

That experience shaped many of the questions that have inspired this project: Who gets access to an environmental education? Who feels welcome in outdoor spaces? And, how do those experiences shape stewardship and advocacy and promote a sense of belonging in nature?

The Environmental Equity Project is a multimedia blog exploration of those questions created for the Summer 2026 Emerging Media Outreach in Natural Resources class at the University of Idaho.
